Mirzapur: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday set a May 31 deadline for completing construction work of the Maa Vindhyavasini State University (MVSU), asking the administration to run courses that are employment-oriented, innovative, and skill-based.This will benefit the youth of Mirzapur, Sonbhadra and nearby regions, the CM said after inspecting the academic and administrative blocks at MVSU.He instructed the construction agency to prioritise timeliness and quality under all circumstances, noting that the university is a temple of education.“Our govt has fulfilled a long-pending demand by establishing a university in the name of Maa Vindhyavasini for the youth of Mirzapur. No laxity will be tolerated in its construction,” he said. Yogi said directions have been issued for necessary action on requisition for the appointment of Group C employees.The CM planted a Maulshree sapling in the university premises and instructed the administration to coordinate with the forest department during the upcoming monsoon season to procure a large number of saplings. He asked them to conduct a large-scale plantation drive in and around the campus with the participation of teachers, students, and staff. Earlier, MVSU Vice Chancellor Prof Shobha Gaur welcomed Yogi in the presence of UP minister Ashish Patel, MLA Madihan Ramashankar Patel, Principal Secretary (Higher Education) Mahendra Agrawal, Divisional Commissioner Rajesh Prakash, and District Magistrate Pawan Kumar Gangwar.
