Nagpur: A six-year-old boy died after accidentally falling into an open sewage pit in Sharda Nagar slum on Tuesday afternoon.According to police, the child, Danish Ansari, was playing near his house and wandered into a neighbour’s backyard, where a pit had been dug. The boy was immediately taken to a nearby hospital at around 3.30pm, where doctors declared him brought dead. “Prima facie, it is difficult to tell for how long the kid was in the pit. We are awaiting the autopsy results for filing of charges. We are also talking to other neighbours and trying to establish a timeline,” said inspector Harish Borade of Wathoda police station. The cop hinted that the neighbour may face negligence charges if any such evidence pops-up in the investigation.Police have registered a case of accidental death.
