Gurgaon: A man died in a hit-and-run incident on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway near Atlas Chowk on Sunday afternoon. Preliminary inquiry suggested that the victim was crossing the road when he was hit by a white Kia car.Police said the incident occurred around 12.30pm on March 15. Traffic personnel deployed on the stretch noticed congestion in vehicles moving towards Delhi and reached the spot, where they found a man lying injured on the road.The injured man was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The body, which is yet to be identified, was shifted to the mortuary at the govt hospital in Sector 10.Police said the driver fled the spot right after the accident, leaving the vehicle behind. The car has been seized. Police conducted inquiries in nearby areas to establish the victim’s identity, but no leads have been found so far.Based on a complaint by a traffic officer, a case was registered on Monday at Udyog Vihar police station under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death due to negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).Police said efforts are underway to identify and trace the driver involved in the incident.
