Hyderabad: A war of words erupted between BRS working president KT Rama Rao and deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, ministers Sridhar Babu, D Anasuya, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on various issues during the former’s speech in the assembly on Tuesday.KTR raised a wide range of issues, including the implementation of the six guarantees, IT investments, growth, payment of Rythu Bharosa, the loan waiver scheme, support to women’s self-help groups, employee benefits and overseas scholarships. The BRS leader said the governor’s speech lacked credibility due to unfulfilled promises.During his speech on the motion of thanks to the governor’s address, KTR dared the govt to show one village, including CM Revanth Reddy’s native village Kondareddypalle, that had received a full loan waiver. He also demanded that the state govt order a probe into the missing six-guarantee file, signed by the CM and cleared by the cabinet two and a half years ago. He said the governor’s speech had some credibility, and after the first cabinet meeting after the Congress govt assured legal status, the grand old party claimed that the CM had cleared the file.“What happened to that file, and where is the file signed by the CM, granting legal status to the six guarantees? If such an important document disappeared, a special investigation team (SIT) must be constituted immediately to trace it,” he demanded.KTR asked the govt to provide adequate funds for various promises made to the people in the run-up to the 2023 assembly elections, including 2,500 financial assistance to women, enhancement of monthly pension to 4,000, and revival of some schemes like KCR Kits and one tola of gold to brides, even by changing the names to those of their own leaders.Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka said the then BRS govt had promised 2-BHK houses, but failed to deliver; similarly, it promised one job per household, that a Dalit would be made CM, and free land distribution to Dalits. In contrast, he said the present govt has sanctioned 5 lakh per house and initiated construction of Indiramma houses. In the first phase, 4.5 lakh houses (3,500 per constituency) were being built, with 22,500 crore allocated in a single tranche for Indiramma housing, calling it a record in the country’s history.R&B minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said BRS had also promised before the 2014 assembly elections that a Dalit would be made CM, three acres to each Dalit family, and that even the loan waiver took several years. The govt could not do it due to financial constraints, and the Congress govt repaid about 3.25 lakh crore on the loans taken by the BRS govt. Panchayat raj minister D Anasuya (Seethakka) said the BRS govt had put the burden of 3,000 crore interest on the Congress regime as it did not pay the interest on ‘Pavala Vaddi’ loans taken by women of self-help groups (SHGs) in 10 years.KTR alleged that the state govt was falsely claiming that it gave 67,000 jobs in the past two years, but the Congress govt issued notifications and gave only 11,921 jobs. The then BRS govt had given notifications and the incumbent Congress gave appointment letters. He said as many as 80 retired employees lost their lives without receiving post-retirement benefits. The BRS leader said the govt programmes revolved around land, including Future City, Kanche-Gachibowli, MANUU and Visakha Sharada Peetham land parcels in Kokapet.
