Jamshedpur: The district administration has made elaborate security arrangements to make sure that Nav Varsh Shoba procession is taken out peacefully in Jamshedpur. Different social and Hindu organisations will jointly take out shoba yatra on Wednesday to mark the beginning of the Hindu New Year. The annual calendar of Vikram Samvat 2082 will begin from March 19.SP (City) Kumar Shivashish said that police has reviewed the route chart and accordingly security arrangements have been made. The police have identified 38 intersections on the procession route for temporary barricading and CCTVs will be installed at 35 strategic points for surveillance on the streets, he said.Nine deputy police superintendent rank officials have been entrusted with the responsibility to move with the procession in their command zone to keep regular coordination with the procession leaders. The police station in-charges have been tasked to increase patrolling on the route.The police and para-military personnel deployed at the sensitive intersections will be equipped with water cannon machine, tear gas shells and rubber bullets. Additionally, the Rapid Action Force (RAF), Rapid Action Police (RAP), Quick Response Team (QRTs), Tiger Mobile (TM) and Jharkhand Jaguar (JJ) personnel will be deployed along the celebratory procession route.The administration has prohibited the movement of heavy commercial vehicles, barring passenger buses, on the procession route from 6 am to 11 pm on March 18.Hindu Utsav Samiti President Ravi Prakash said that 12 different organisations will jointly take out the procession from transport ground at Dimna. The procession will converge into religious gathering when it reaches Subhash Maidan (Aam maidan ground) in Sakchi after travelling through the 7-km long Mango-Dimna road and Mango bus stand-Bengal club road.
