Mangaluru: A 64-year-old man was allegedly lured into a fake online trading scheme, and cheated of over Rs 25.8 lakh.According to the complaint, he received a message on WhatsApp regarding a trading platform. As he was interested in trading, he continued to communicate with the scamsters through WhatsApp. Subsequently, the accused added him to a WhatsApp group. In the group, a person named Harshe convinced the complainant that if he traded through a particular platform, he would earn 25% profit, and in case of loss, the company would bear it. Believing their claims, the complainant transferred a total of Rs 25.8 lakh to various bank accounts between Jan 21 and Feb 12 this year.The CEN crime police registered a case.
