Surat: In another incident of violence outside a school in Gujarat, a Class 9 student was attacked by four minors near Galaxy Army International School in the Pandesara area around 8.30pm on Sunday. The victim was allegedly beaten by the four boys and stabbed by one of them. Pandesara police detained the four minors after booking them for voluntarily causing hurt with a dangerous weapon. Assistant commissioner of police (ACP) V R Malhotra told TOI: “The victim went to attend a school function on Sunday night with his younger sister. During the programme, a friend of the victim’s fought with another student during the dance event. The matter moved outside the campus, as the four persons from the other student’s side challenged the victim. They assaulted him and one of them stabbed him with a knife, which he had bought online two months earlier. All four accused have been detained.” According to police, of the four accused minors, two study at the victim’s school and two at Gaurav School in Pandesara. The boy who brought the knife had dropped out in Class 9. During the fight inside the school, a teacher had scolded one of the accused. Angry over this, he called two friends to the school. When the victim came out, they stopped him and started fighting with him. He was stabbed in the stomach and back and was rushed to New Civil Hospital. Pandesara police inspector J R Chaudhary said: “Of the four accused, one had a Class 10 board exam on Monday. We allowed him to take the exam, after which he was detained.”
