Coimbatore: A guest worker from Jharkhand was found murdered in a vacant plot near Kaniyur on Sunday. Police have detained three suspects and are investigating.The deceased has been identified as Narayan Hembram, 33, from West Singhbhum district in Jharkhand. He was working as a labourer at a private firm and had been living in Cheradpalayam near Kaniyur in Karumathampatti.On Sunday, Murugesan, the village administrative officer (VAO), received information from a local councillor about a body lying in a vacant plot at Poolaikadu in Karumathampatti. When he reached the spot, he found Hembram with severe cut injuries on his jaw and left hand.Murugesan alerted Karumathampatti police, who recovered the body and began an inquiry. Preliminary investigation revealed that Hembram had been drinking with his friend Jeyaram, 36, on Saturday night, during which an argument broke out between him and a few unidentified men. Although they initially went their separate ways, police suspect the men may have followed Hembram and attacked him later that night.Police have detained three suspects, including a minor in conflict with the law, and are continuing the investigation.
