According to the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB), the first shift (10am-12 noon) recorded 2,63,838 candidates, while 2,67,927 candidates appeared in the second shift (3pm-5pm). More than 2,56,205 lakh registered candidates skipped the exam, taking the overall attendance rate to over 67.48%. Authorities confirmed that no adverse report, disturbance or irregularity was received from any examination centre. The exam was conducted under strict administrative supervision and extensive security arrangements. Police personnel and district administration officials were deployed at centres to maintain law and order, regulate candidate entry and prevent malpractice. Authorities also maintained close surveillance of online platforms and messaging applications to detect attempts to spread rumours, circulate fake question papers, or mislead candidates regarding the examination. During the monitoring, officials found several misleading posts and messages circulating on social media platforms claiming that the question paper was leaked or offering purported access to the exam paper in exchange for money. Taking cognisance of these, police registered seven separate FIRs over the last two days — March 13 and 14 — in Lucknow.
