Vadodara: A 32-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her husband at their residence in the Navapura area of Vadodara in the early hours of Saturday following a domestic dispute triggered by his suspicion of an affair.The accused, Bunty Solanki (35), was arrested by Navapura police on Saturday morning, hours after the incident.Police said the victim, Rita Solanki, lived with Bunty at Narayan Avenue Complex in Navapura. She worked on contract with the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC), cleaning an office and performing other chores.According to police, the couple had frequent arguments over Bunty’s suspicion that Rita was involved in an affair. On Friday night, another heated argument broke out between them which escalated late into the night.Around 12.30am, Bunty allegedly attacked Rita with a knife and stabbed her multiple times in the chest and face, killing her on the spot.After committing the crime, Bunty fled from the house. Neighbours alerted the police, while the victim’s parents and relatives were informed. Her parents and paternal uncle, Harish Parmar, rushed to Vadodara from Surat, and Parmar later lodged a murder complaint at Navapura police station.Police inspector M S Asari said Bunty’s elderly mother and the couple’s two sons were present in the house when the incident occurred. The couple had married in 2013 after a love relationship and have two sons aged 13 years and two years.
