Bengaluru: A 40-year-old SBI staffer in East Bengaluru was allegedly sexually harassed by a customer. The accused, KR Ravi Shetty, a businessman, reportedly used his visit to the bank to exploit the employee.According to the complaint filed by Preethi (name changed), Shetty visited the branch on March 10 to enquire about internet banking services. During the conversation, he asked her to give a missed call on his mobile number for banking purposes, which she did, unaware of his intentions.Later that evening, at 8pm, Shetty allegedly began sending lewd and obscene messages. Preethi issued a warning and reported the incident to the branch’s chief manager on March 11. When contacted, Shetty promised to visit the bank and apologise.However, at 5.20pm, he sent another inappropriate message to the chief manager regarding the complainant, further aggravating the situation. Following the incident, the complainant approached police. A case has been registered under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Section 75 (sexual harassment) at Banasawadi police station, and a notice has been issued to Shetty.
