Patna: Railways will run a new daily passenger train between Patna and Thawe, providing a direct link between the state capital and the temple town.According to the ECR’s chief public relations officer (CPRO) Saraswati Chandra, the passenger train (55515/55516) will be introduced from Sunday, departing from Patna Junction at 12.10pm and arriving Thawe around 7pm. “The train, with a load composition of 24 coaches, will have stoppages at Phulwarisharif, Patliputra Junction, Dighabrige Halt, Dighwara and Goldenganj en route to Thawe,” he said, adding that on its return journey, it will leave Thawe at 8.05pm and reach Patna Junction around 3.20am.“While the new service will benefit passengers travelling between Patna and the northwestern parts of Bihar, it will also improve access to Thawe, which is known for the Thawe temple.Meanwhile, the Sonepur division of the ECR has intensified its enforcement drive. At least 45 persons were arrested for illegal alarm chain pulling during a weeklong campaign conducted under the anti-crime programme.“A total fine of Rs 8,600 has also been collected from the offenders,” the CPRO said, adding that such operations will continue to ensure safety and discipline on passenger trains.
