Gorakhpur: A dispute over a pet cat allegedly led to a violent clash between relatives in the Tiwaripur area of the city, leaving a 30-year-old man with fractures in both arms. Police have registered a case against two, following a complaint by the injured man.According to police, Mohammad Shehzade, a resident near Kachchi Bagh, alleged that his uncle Shannu’s pet cat frequently entered his portion of the house and created a mess in the kitchen and bedroom. The family members live in separate portions of the same house. In his complaint, Shehzade said he had repeatedly asked his uncle to control the cat as it often left the house dirty, causing foul smell and forcing the family to clean the area frequently. However, his requests were allegedly ignored. The matter escalated on Wednesday when the cat again entered his house again. When Shehzade complained to his uncle, an argument broke out. He alleged that Shannu and another family member, Sana Khatoon, assaulted him and later threw him off the terrace.Shehzade lost consciousness after the fall and was rushed to a hospital by family members. Doctors later confirmed fractures in both his arms after an X-ray examination.Shannu, however, denied the allegations, claiming the complaint was an attempt to give a different colour to a domestic dispute.Station house officer Pankaj Kumar Singh said an FIR on Thursday evening has been registered and the matter is under investigation.
