T’puram: Medical College police on Friday registered a case based on a sexual harassment complaint filed by a woman against a former superintendent of govt medical college hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.The accused is Dr Sunil Kumar who is currently serving as a senior doctor heading a unit in neurosurgery department. According to the complaint, the alleged incident dates back to 2023. The Thiruvananthapuram native woman alleged that the doctor took her to a hotel and sexually assaulted her. She also claimed that the doctor took her to different locations in the city during the period of their acquaintance. Following the complaint, police registered a case and launched a probe. Police questioned the accused doctor, who is currently on leave. Meanwhile, Dr Kumar reportedly denied the allegations and claimed that the woman took large sums of money from him on several occasions after threatening to file a case.
