Shimla: The Shimla police have arrested 27-year-old Naviel Harrison, a native of Calicut, Kerala, from Gurugram for supplying Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD), following leads from two individuals caught in Shimla on March 10 with 562 LSD strips (11.57 grams) valued at over Rs 1.1 crore.Shimla additional superintendent of police (ASP) Abhishek said the investigation into the previously arrested accused revealed Harrison’s involvement. An FIR was registered at New Shimla police station under Sections 22 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. LSD, a semisynthetic hallucinogenic drug, is used recreationally for its psychedelic effects. On March 10, a raid at Him Niwas, BCS Shimla, led to the seizure of LSD from Sandeep Sharma (40) of Moga, Punjab, and Priya Sharma (26) of Dadahu, Sirmaur. The ASP confirmed that Harrison and Sandeep communicated via WhatsApp for a long time. Harrison supplied LSD, while Sandeep provided cannabis in exchange. This year alone, Shimla police have registered 77 cases under the NDPS Act, arresting 144 individuals. Of these, 14 were caught from other states, including Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and near the India-Nepal border, as part of backward-linkage operations.
