Bhilwara: The Ajmer Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) team arrested Atali tehsildar Ganesh Kachchhawa and two others, including an e-mitra operator, Friday evening for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 60,000 and an air-conditioner in exchange for facilitating land registration.According to ACB officials, the operation was initiated following a complaint from a local resident seeking to register land taken on lease in Jawanpura village. The complainant, after being directed by e-mitra operator Hemraj Khatik, was informed that approval from tehsildar Kachchhawa was necessary. During subsequent discussions, Khatik said that the tehsildar was demanding the bribe money and an air-conditioner to expedite the registration process.Following the complaint filed on March 10, the ACB team, led by CI Kanchan Bhati, carried out surveillance and verification measures before staging the operation. On Thursday evening, they witnessed Hemraj allegedly accepting the bribe at his office and swiftly arrested him.Subsequently, Kachchhawa and UDC Hanuman Sahay Meena were arrested after they allegedly confessed to their involvement in the corrupt dealings during interrogation. The ACB seized the bribe amount and registered a case against the trio under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The ACB has initiated a thorough investigation to uncover any further wrongdoing associated with the case.
