Prayagraj: The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has cancelled the main examination applications of 410 candidates, who cleared the preliminary stage of the PCS 2025, due to various discrepancies. The commission has released the roll numbers of the affected candidates, along with the reasons for rejection, on its official website. The commission gave the candidates an opportunity to submit their representations by 5 pm on March 17, either through post or by appearing in person before the commission. The commission declared the PCS 2025 Prelims result on Dec 1, 2025, wherein 11,727 candidates qualified for the Mains examination. This exam is scheduled from Mar 29 to April 1. According to officials, the largest number of applications—260—were rejected because the candidates did not possess the required educational qualifications for the posts they applied for. Another 95 had their applications cancelled because their main examination forms were not received by the commission by the prescribed deadline of Jan 5. In addition, the applications of 5 candidates were rejected due to discrepancies in their dates of birth. The commission also cancelled applications of 13 candidates who claimed the Dependents of Freedom Fighters (DFF) category and 5 who claimed the ex-servicemen category in their online forms. However, these candidates neither attached nor uploaded the necessary certificates supporting their category claims with their main examination applications. Some of these candidates later requested through affidavits or representations that their claims under the DFF category should not be considered. However, the commission said that any change in category or sub-category after the last date for submission of applications is not permissible, leading to the rejection of their applications. Meanwhile, the commission also released the detailed distribution of posts for the Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer Examination 2023. Out of the total 338 Review Officer posts, the highest —322—are in the Uttar Pradesh secretariat, while 13 posts are in the commission and 3 in the Board of Revenue, Uttar Pradesh. For Assistant Review Officer, 81 posts were announced, including 40 in the secretariat, 23 in the Board of Revenue and 18 in the commission.
