Buxar: Consumers across Buxar district are facing difficulties due to a shortage of LPG cylinders at local gas agencies. Officials at several agencies said the problem has arisen due to disruption in supply, forcing many residents who arrived with empty cylinders since morning to return without getting gas.The shortage has increased household difficulties, especially for families dependent on LPG for daily cooking. Consumers said deliveries were regular earlier but the situation has worsened in recent days.A consumer said while the govt claims there is no shortage of gas, petrol or diesel in the country, the ground reality appears different. “I have been visiting the gas agency for two consecutive days but returned empty-handed as employees say there is no stock. They are asking us to come and check every day,” he said.Another resident also returned without a cylinder from a gas agency and said LPG prices are already rising while availability has also become difficult. He appealed to the Prime Minister to intervene so that consumers can get relief.Meanwhile, the district administration has stepped up measures to prevent black-marketing and hoarding. Sub-divisional magistrate Avinash Kumar said a special monitoring campaign will be conducted from March 13 to March 20 to ensure smooth distribution and maintain law and order.
