Ludhiana: The Ludhiana police have arrested an accused involved in robbery incidents. The team recovered a motorcycle, five mobile phones, and a snatched purse from the possession of the arrested individual.Sharing details of the case, ADCP Zone-3 Dev Singh and ACP (West) Jatinderpal Singh stated that SHO Rajinder Pal Singh of PAU Police Station received a formal statement from complainant Vikas Kumar on March 11. The complainant reported that on the evening of March 6, while he was near a local market, two men on a black Hero Splendor motorcycle blocked his path. He identified the riders as Pradeep, alias Vadda Lalla, of Pratap Singh Wala, and Rahul, of F-Block, Rishi Nagar.According to the complaint, the duo demanded his mobile phone and money, explicitly stating they needed funds for drugs. When Vikas resisted, Pradeep allegedly brandished a sharp iron weapon while Rahul used an iron rod to assault him. During the struggle, Pradeep forcibly took the victim’s mobile phone and Rahul snatched his purse, which contained Rs 1,000, an Aadhaar card, and photographs. The accused then fled on their motorcycle. The victim was treated at Civil Hospital and later moved to another facility for further care.Following the registration of a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the police successfully arrested Pradeep. Along with the stolen motorcycle and the victim’s purse, officers recovered five mobile phones of various brands and an iron weapon. Officials noted that the accused is currently being interrogated, and further revelations are expected as the investigation continues.
