Fazilka: A charred drone and several heroin packets were recovered from a field in the border area of Jalalabad in Fazilka district. On receiving information, teams of Punjab Police and the Border Security Force (BSF) reached the spot, sealed the area, and conducted a search operation. During the search, the drone and 5.8 kg of heroin were recovered. According to information, the drone originated from across the border and entered India. “It crashed and was damaged after hitting high-voltage power lines passing over the fields. Police are currently investigating the matter,” said a source.Fazilka Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Gurmeet Singh said the incident occurred near the Santokh Singh Wala border outpost (BOP). “On Wednesday night, a drone was moving from Pakistan towards India. During this incident, the drone, carrying a consignment of heroin, came into contact with high-voltage power lines passing over fields and crashed. Upon receiving information, the police and the BSF sealed the area and conducted a search operation, recovering the drone and the heroin consignment from the field.“Ferozerpur police nab 3 with illegal arms, heroinThe Ferozepur district police have arrested 3 persons involved in illegal arms trafficking and recovered 4 illegal weapons, 4 magazines, and 7 live cartridges, along with heroin. Ferozepur SSP Bhupinder Singh Sidhu said that acting on a specific input, the Zira Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) team conducted patrols, during which it arrested Gurpreet Singh alias Gumma (25), and Khark Singh (28) from the Zira grain market. The police recovered two .32 bore country-made pistols, 2 magazines, and 2 live cartridges from their possession. A case under the Arms Act, 1959, was registered at the City Police Station, Zira.In another operation, the Ferozepur CIA team apprehended Sandeep alias Billa (32) of village Khalchiya Jadid near the Ferozeshah grain market. During a search, police recovered 105 grams of heroin, 2 illegal pistols (.30 bore and .32 bore), 2 magazines, and 5 live cartridges from a bag carried by the accused.A case was registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) and the Arms Act of India at Ghall Khurd Police Station.
