Ranchi: The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) K Ravi Kumar on Thursday said that recognised political parties should expedite the appointment of their booth level agents (BLA) at all polling stations so that coordinated work can be carried out during the upcoming special intensive revision (SIR) of the electoral roll.He said this on Thursday while sharing the information related to preparations for the SIR of the electoral roll in the state with the representatives of recognized political parties.“Training related to the intensive revision of the electoral roll should also be completed for all booth level agents so that no confusion arises while working with BLOs at the ground level,” the CEO said.The lists related to Absent, Shifted, Death and Duplicate (ASDD) at all polling stations will be published after being verified by BLOs from BLAs, he added.“Cooperation from all recognized political parties is expected during the SIR of the electoral roll,” Kumar said. He also provided detailed information on all points related to the SIR of the electoral roll, including enumeration forms, draft publication, ASDD list, notification, and hearing, and discussed their doubts and suggestions.The CEO also said that preparations for the SIR process is on and for this purpose, the work of mapping voters from the previous intensive revision electoral roll is being carried out in the state.He said that as soon as the SIR exercise begins, BLOs will visit voters’ homes, provide enumeration forms and collect them after being filled. Along with this, stickers will also be affixed by BLOs on the houses of all voters.“These stickers will contain the house number of the voter and the name and number of their BLO so that any citizen can obtain assistance related to the electoral roll,” the CEO said.
