Nagpur: A 54-year-old teacher was arrested on Tuesday for alleged sexual exploitation of Class 4 girl students at a school in a village under Paoni taluka in Bhandara district.The complainant, a 32-year-old mother of one of the survivors, alleged that the accused, identified as Anilkumar Jagan Raut, a resident of Lakhandur in Bhandara district, committed the heinous offences between July 2025 and March 7, 2026, inside the school classroom.As per the complaint filed at Paoni police station, the accused would send some students outside the classroom and show obscene videos to the remaining girls on his mobile phone and sexually assault them. The complaint further stated that the accused also threatened to fail the students in examinations if they disclosed the incidents to anyone. The complainant also alleged that the teacher used intimidation and physical force to silence the girls.The matter came to light after one of the girls narrated the incidents to the complainant, who then spoke to her daughter and other minor students. Based on their statements and complainant’s oral report, police registered a case for aggravated penetrative sexual assault/rape of a minor (specifically a child under 12), under relevant sections of BNS and POCSO.Bhandara SP Noorul Hasan said the accused would be chargesheeted within a week. “The school has 19 students. Of the six students in his class, five girls came forward to file the complaints,” he said.
