Srinagar, Mar 11: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference General Secretary and MLA Khanyar Ali Mohammad Sagar on Wednesday inaugurated a newly constructed school building at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Nishat, built at an estimated cost of Rs 1.78 crore.
MLA Hazratbal Salman Ali Sagar was also present on the occasion.
During the event, Sagar announced an additional allocation of Rs 10 lakh for strengthening smart classroom facilities and for setting up a student utility store within the institution.
Addressing the gathering, he highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening essential public services under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
“The government led by Omar Abdullah remains steadfast in its resolve to prioritise the provision and expansion of basic civic amenities across Jammu and Kashmir. Education and healthcare form the cornerstone of our developmental vision, and sustained investments in institutions such as this are vital for creating better opportunities and a brighter future for our youth,” Sagar said.
He said the upgradation of educational infrastructure was essential for improving the quality of learning and ensuring that students have access to modern facilities.
Sagar also spoke about the changing developmental trajectory of the region, saying that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are determined to move forward on the path of progress.
“For nearly a decade, the region experienced a period marked by administrative inertia and misgovernance, which slowed the pace of development. Today, people are determined not to return to that phase and are supportive of renewed development and public welfare initiatives,” he said.
