Varanasi: Woman floor manager of a gym lodged a case with Shivpur police, alleging that a member of the facility harassed her sexually and issued threats of dire consequences when she objected to his stalking her up to her home.Shivpur police station in charge Ajit Kumar Verma said on Wednesday that based on the woman floor manager’s complaint, a case of sexual assault and threatening was registered against Ranu alias Aarup Yadav, resident of Shivpur Chungi area. Verma said investigation was on and further action would be taken on the basis of its outcomes. The woman mentioned in her complaint that only after a few days of joining the gym, Ranu started misbehaving with her and, when she objected, he abused and threatened to kill her. She further alleged that the accused started stalking her not only all over the gym but also outside, causing distress and fear. The complainant said she reported the matter to Ranu’s family members, the gym manager, and the owner, but there was no let-up his misconduct. Mentioning that the accused’s actions were captured on the gym’s CCTV cameras, she demanded action.
