Hyderabad: A 36-year-old manpower consultancy owner was stabbed to death by a client after an argument over the refund of 1,000 paid as part of fee for securing a job, near Madhura Nagar Metro Station, police said. The police have launched a manhunt to nab the accused, who also stabbed the receptionist while escaping.According to Banjara Hills ACP S Venkat Reddy, the deceased, Sai Kiran Reddy, owned of a manpower consultancy. On Tuesday around 2pm, the accused, Prabhu Kumar, entered Sai Kiran’s office cabin and latched the door from inside. Upon hearing screams from inside, office staff started knocking on the door. Prabhu opened the door with a blood-stained knife in his hand. When the receptionist, Laya, tried to stop him he stabbed her on the left shoulder and fled.Co-workers rushed both Reddy and Laya to a nearby hospital. “Sai Kiran was declared dead at a private hospital in Ameerpet. Laya is undergoing treatment and is out of danger,” the ACP said.Preliminary probe revealed Prabhu, in his 20s, had studied till Class 10 and approached Sai Kiran for a job a few days ago. He paid 2,500 as consultancy fee. Two days ago, Sai Kiran got him a job of a security guard at a restaurant in Lakdikapul, but Prabhu did not like the work. He demanded a refund and Sai Kiran. After he was threatened by Prabhu on Tuesday, Sai Kiran made a UPI payment of 1,500 to an associate of Prabhu. “We suspect Prabhu might have stabbed Sai Kiran over the payment of balance 1,000,” the ACP said. A murder case was registered.
