Ahmedabad: Gujarat University temporarily suspended the recruitment process for two more administrative positions, adding to the list of posts already put on hold. Earlier, the university halted the recruitment process for the positions of physical education director and assistant registrar. Now, the recruitment for the posts of personal assistant (PA) to the registrar and personal assistant to the vice-chancellor was also suspended.With this decision, a total of four posts from the previously announced vacancies are currently excluded from the recruitment process. Some other positions were already decided not to be filled earlier.As a result, several important posts were kept aside even before the recruitment process began. The university stated that the decision to suspend the recruitment process was taken due to technical reasons.However, discussions also started in academic circles suggesting that the move may have been influenced by various forms of pressure, though no official confirmation was given regarding these claims.
