Varanasi: The Banaras Hindu University team departed on Monday to participate in the National Youth Festival being held in Chennai from March 10 to 14. The team will take part in various competitions representing the BHU and North Central Zone.Dean of students’ welfare, prof Ranjan Kumar Singh, said that at the Zonal Youth Festival held at Maharshi Markandey Vishwavidyalaya in Ambala, Haryana, the BHU team participated in approximately 28 competitions in five different categories and secured medals in 15 disciplines. More than 155 universities from across the country are participating in the Youth Festival, he said.The BHU team will be led by associate professor of Journalism and Mass Communication department, Bala Lakhendra. The BHU team will also present a tableau based on cultural heritage of Kashi.
