Bengaluru: Two youths lost their lives after the sports motorbike they were testing crashed into a slow-moving tractor near Gudemaranahalli handpost in Kunigal on the Bengaluru–Mangaluru state highway Sunday night.The deceased are Chandan Gowda G and Mahesh O, aged 22 years and residents of Nandini Layout, north Bengaluru.The two were shifted to Kunigal Hospital by midnight, where they were declared brought dead, police said. According to their families, Chandan Gowda recently purchased the sports motorbike and wanted to go for a long ride to get the engine fine-tuned. On Sunday night, the youths left their houses after informing their families of their purpose. On reaching Gudemaranahalli handpost, Chandan Gowda failed to notice the tractor moving ahead and rammed into it.“Though they wore helmets, they sustained severe injuries to their ribs, neck and hands, causing severe internal bleeding,” police said, adding: “There was no trace of alcohol in their blood,” police said.
