Leader of Opposition in the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly and BJP’s Election Co-Incharge for the Assam Assembly elections, Sunil Sharma addressed a massive gathering of party workers and local residents in West Karbi Anglong, asserting the Bharatiya Janata Party’s unwavering commitment to the development and prosperity of Assam under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Addressing the gathering, Sunil Sharma said that Assam today stands at the forefront of a new era of growth and transformation due to the decisive policies and development-oriented governance of the BJP. He emphasized that the Modi-led government has placed the Northeast at the center of India’s development agenda, ensuring massive investments in connectivity, industry, healthcare, and education to unlock the region’s immense potential..
Highlighting the transformative initiatives taken in the state, Sharma said that the BJP governments at the Centre and in Assam, have accelerated infrastructure development through highways, bridges, railways, and industrial projects that are reshaping the economic landscape of the region. Major connectivity projects and development initiatives worth thousands of crores are strengthening Assam as a central point in development of Southeast Asia and opening new avenues of growth for youth, farmers, entrepreneurs, and small businesses.
Sunil Sharma stated that the BJP believes in inclusive development where progress reaches the last person in the queue. He said that welfare schemes of the Modi government, including housing, healthcare, farmer support, and skill development initiatives, have brought dignity and economic empowerment to millions of families across Assam and the Northeast.
He further asserted that the BJP’s governance model is rooted in transparency, accountability, and a strong commitment to nation-building.
He said that the people of Assam have witnessed how development has accelerated under the BJP, correcting decades of neglect and placing the state firmly on the path of prosperity and stability.
Appreciating the enthusiasm of party workers and the overwhelming support from the local population, Sharma expressed confidence that the collective efforts of dedicated BJP cadre will further strengthen the mission of development and good governance.
He further said that the Bharatiya Janata Party will continue working shoulder-to-shoulder with the people of Assam to realize the vision of a strong, prosperous, and self-reliant state in line with the national goal of building a “Viksit Bharat.”
