Erode: AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palanisamy on Sunday said that his party has become a clean movement after the exit of O Panneerselavam, who joined arch-rival DMK recently.Asserting himself as the chief ministerial candidate of the AIADMK-led National Democratic Alliance in the state, EPS said, “The upcoming election will decide who should rule the state.” Addressing the party rallies at Kanchikoil and Bhavani, EPS said, “While women were celebrating the International Women’s Day across the world today, a seven-year-old girl has been sexually assaulted at Kumarapalayam in Namakkal district. Law and order situation has deteriorated in Tamil Nadu as there is no safety for women in the state.” Responding to allegations that he had purposely expelled OPS from the party, EPS said OPS left the party and joined with the DMK to defeat the AIADMK. The AIADMK was formed to destroy DMK, he said, adding that OPS has become a member of that party now. EPS promised to set up a water treatment plant at SIPCOT in Perundurai to purify waste water once AIADMK forms the govt.
