New Delhi: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar‘s son, Nishant Kumar, on Sunday officially joined the JDU at the party office in Patna. JDU working president Sanjay Jha offered him the party membership slip while Union minister Lalan Singh welcomed him.
In a short speech, Nishant r praised the work done by his father over the last 20 years as the state’s CM. “My father decided to go to Rajya Sabha; it was his personal decision. We all respect it,” he said. “We will keep working under his guidance. I will work to strengthen the organisation.”
With Nishant joining the party, the deck has been cleared for his entry into the new government in the state. According to sources, JDU leaders are mulling proposing Nishant’s name for the post of deputy CM.
