T’puram: At a job fair organised by Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission, the career guidance cell of Thumba St. Xavier’s College, and Vijnana Kerala, 67 individuals secured employment. The event saw participation from 24 leading companies. A total of 101 candidates were shortlisted and 210 people attended the job fair.A special orientation was organised for the job seekers at the main venue. The orientation covered topics such as the necessity of choosing a job that matched one’s interests and skills, and how to confidently face job interviews. Participants included those with undergraduate, postgraduate, ITI, diploma, and engineering degrees. The event began with a welcome speech by Nisharani D, placement officer of St. Xavier’s College. The programme was presided over by Kadinamkulam ward councillor Raphael Alby and inaugurated by Kadinamkulam panchayat president Jose Nicholas P. S Sreekala, director of Knowledge Economy Mission, delivered the keynote address. Other attendees included St. Xavier’s College principal Thomas Scaria, academic coordinator Father Shibu Joseph, Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission programme manager Vaishakh R A, along with other officials and public representatives.
