Shopian, Mar 7: An awareness programme on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) schemes was organized at Gagren, Shopian on Saturday to educate local youth, artisans and aspiring entrepreneurs about various government initiatives aimed at promoting self-employment and entrepreneurship by District Industries Centre Shopian.
During the programme, General Manager, District Industries Centre, Shopian, Shurjil Naik emphasized coordinated efforts among departments to strengthen the industrial sector and create sustainable livelihoods opportunities in the district.
Stressing the importance of industrial growth for economic development, the GM directed the concerned officials to ensure effective implementation of government schemes and extend necessary support to aspiring entrepreneurs.
The participants were sensitized about different MSME schemes, financial assistance, skill development opportunities and support available for setting up new enterprises.
The resource persons encouraged youth to take advantage of various government programmes and start their own ventures. They also informed the participants about the registration process, benefits under MSME schemes and the role of financial institutions in supporting entrepreneurs.
Officers from various departments, along with youth, artisans and local residents, participated in the programme and appreciated the initiative promoting entrepreneurship and self-reliance.
