Mysuru: Siddaramaiah said that one can become the chief minister only with the blessings of the public, and his life’s mission is to empower the poor and the vulnerable in society. He was speaking at the Pratishtapana Mahotsava and Kumbhakalasha installation ceremony of Sri Adishaktatmaka Dandimaramma Temple, at Pillahalli village on Saturday. He said that it is a matter of belief that God resides in temples, and he does not oppose the faith that worshipping God brings good. “However, I believe that God exists everywhere, and I practise that belief,” he said.
“I came to Pillahalli to inaugurate the temple out of affection for the people of the village and expressed confidence that he would continue to receive their support in the future,” Siddaramaiah said. The CM also recalled visiting Dandimaramma Temple since his childhood and said that God should not be remembered only during times of difficulty, but in all circumstances. “Though God has many names, there is only one divine force. God exists within us and everywhere. Wishing everyone well is what truly matters. No religion or caste teaches hatred; they all preach love,” Siddaramaiah said. Siddaramaiah said social inequalities must be reduced and that all govt schemes are aimed at establishing equality in society. “People of all castes, religions and communities should gain economic and social strength. My objective is to empower the poor and the weak in society. Social justice can be achieved only when the benefits of welfare schemes reach the last person in society,” he added.
