T’puram: Cinematographer Sunny Joseph was appointed as the director of KR Narayanan National Institute of Visual Science and Arts. The director post at the institute, which had been going through a rough patch, lay vacant for months. Higher education minister R Bindu said that Joseph’s appointment to the post would help the institute make major strides and achieve excellence on a par with international institutes. “Sunny Joseph is a visual arts talent with over four decades of experience in cinematography. His extensive work, which includes providing visual narratives for around 65 films and showcasing his skills in directing and other areas, will bring new heights to Kerala’s own film study institute named after K R Narayanan,” the minister said.
