Bengaluru: A 25-year-old woman reportedly died by suicide after consuming a grain-preserving tablet following a dispute with her husband over sambar in a village on the outskirts of Bengaluru.The deceased is Kavya, a homemaker and mother of a four-year-old son. She was married to Rangaswamy, a farmer and resident of Genasanahalli village near Nelamangala. Police said the couple had an argument after Kavya served sambar that had been prepared three days earlier and stored in the refrigerator. While Rangaswamy reportedly did not object when the same sambar was served on the first two days, he scolded her on the third day for not preparing fresh food, sparking a heated exchange between the couple.Disturbed by the incident, Kavya allegedly consumed the tablet on March 3. Family members rushed her to a nearby hospital, and she was later transferred to another facility that night for further treatment. Despite medical efforts, she did not respond to treatment and succumbed in the early hours of the following day.In his complaint, Kavya’s father did not level any allegations against Rangaswamy or mention the argument over the sambar. He has requested that police investigate the circumstances that led to his daughter taking the extreme step.Dobbespet police have registered a case of unnatural death.
