Pune: The city police rescued four Bangladeshi women from a brothel in Budhwar Peth on Thursday night. They were brought to Pune with the promise of jobs and then forced into prostitution. Police arrested one person and registered a case against a Bangladeshi agent and a woman who owned the property at Budhwar Peth. Acting on a tip-off received by deputy commissioner of police (zone-1) Rishikesh Rawale, a team from Faraskhana police station, led by senior police inspector Prashant Bhasme, conducted the raid. “An agent from Bangladesh sold those women to the brothel,” police said.
