Vadodara: Umreth BJP MLA Govindbhai Parmar died at a private hospital in Anand on Friday evening after a prolonged illness. He was 82.Born in 1943, Parmar was elected to the Gujarat Legislative Assembly from the Umreth constituency in the 2017 assembly elections, when the BJP won the seat for the first time. He was re-elected in 2022 and secured 95,639 votes from the seat.Parmar studied up to Class 7 and later entered public life.Following the news of his death, BJP workers and supporters in Anand district, Gujarat chief minister Bhupendra Patel, among others, expressed grief.
