Vadodara: An argument over a pet dog led to a brutal assault on a woman in the city on Thursday, leaving her with serious injuries and requiring hospitalisation.The incident occurred in the Manjalpur area when the accused, identified as Deepraj Chauhan, was out for a walk with his pet dog.According to police, Chauhan stopped outside the house of the victim, Vaishali Veer, and the dog began barking loudly. Vaishali stepped out of her residence in Marutidham Society and asked him to move ahead as the barking was disturbing the neighbourhood.The exchange soon escalated into a heated argument, after which Chauhan allegedly became enraged. Police said Chauhan went inside his house, brought out a bat and attacked Vaishali, causing severe injuries to her face.Vaishali’s husband, Vikas, alleged that Chauhan frequently brought his dog to the area and the animal often soiled the space outside their house, which had earlier led to friction between the neighbours.Based on the complaint, Manjalpur police have registered a case against Chauhan.
