Vasco: Transport minister Mauvin Godinho on Friday was at Dabolim International Airport where he directed GoaMiles to remove the fare chart from their taxis. Godinho said taxi operators alone should not be blamed for overcharging passengers and tourists. “Certain hotels, restaurants and airlines charge exorbitant fares,” he said. Godinho inspected taxi counters where the drivers complained about fare charts affecting their business. He said tourists arriving at the airport prefer app-based services, while comparing rates of other taxi services. The yellow black taxi operators under the banner of United Taximen Union described the decision by Godinho in removing fair chart of GoaMiles as a big victory.
