Rajkot: A 33-year-old man, Rahul Vishwakarma, was allegedly bludgeoned to death near the KKV overbridge in Rajkot late on Wednesday night, in a fight over a mobile phone, police said. The deceased’s younger brother, Sahil Vishwakarma, lodged a complaint against Ajayrajsinh Jadeja at Malaviya Nagar police station. Inspector J R Desai said the suspect has been arrested. In the FIR, Sahil said that Rahul, who worked at a hotel part-time, had left home around 8.30pm on Wednesday to go to work.On Thursday morning, police informed the family that Rahul had been taken to Civil Hospital with head injuries and had died there. The preliminary inquiry suggests that the murder stemmed from a petty argument. Investigators said Rahul had reportedly asked Jadeja for his phone, to make a call, as he did not have a mobile phone. When Rahul allegedly failed to return the device, an argument broke out after which Jadeja allegedly attacked him.Police seized CCTV footage pertaining to the incident and registered a case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
