Hyderabad: A 55-year-old labourer allegedly hacked his unemployed son to death at their house at Nalavelly village, Nizamabad district on Wednesday night, after becoming upset over his son’s daily harassment for money to buy toddy.The deceased was identified as 22-year-old K Bhanu Prakash, son of K Kishan, from Nalavelly in Indalwai mandal. According to the police, Kishan and Bhanu had an argument at around 7 pm on Wednesday while they were at home.Afterwards, he allegedly attacked his son with an axe while he was lying on a mat, killing him on the spot. He then went to his daughter’s house in the nearby village of Jakranpally, where his wife, K Laxmi, was also present.“My husband arrived at my daughter’s house at around 9 pm and spent the night with us. At around 6 am on Thursday, he told us that he had killed Bhanu the previous night, after which he fled the house,” Laxmi told the police.Laxmi and her daughter then rushed back to Nallavelly, where they found Bhanu lying dead on a mat in the house with a deep neck wound. Villagers alerted the police, who shifted the body for a postmortem. A case was registered against Kishan under section 103(1) (murder) of the BNS on Thursday. He was reportedly taken into custody in Indalwai on Thursday evening.
