Srinagar, Mar 04: The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir has issued a detailed calendar for the conduct of outreach camps in the valley during April to address grievances related to properties of Kashmiri migrants.
According to a document accessed by the Rising Kashmir, issued by the office of the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, the camps will be conducted by designated Nodal Officers – Additional Deputy Commissioners appointed under government order no. 741- JK (GAD) of 2025 dated 19-06-2025.
The decision follows deliberations of the Oversight Steering Committee constituted to monitor the progress of cases concerning encroachments on properties owned by Kashmiri migrants. The initiative aims to ensure time-bound disposal of long-pending grievances pertaining to migrant properties.
As per the schedule, the outreach camps for Quarter-I (April) will commence on April 1 and conclude on April 28 in different districts of Kashmir.
The camps will focus on issues including mutation of property, demarcation disputes, encroachments, restoration of possession, correction of revenue records and other grievances concerning immovable properties of Kashmiri migrants.
The order directs that the concerned Nodal Officers shall personally conduct the camps on the scheduled dates. Deputy Commissioners have been asked to ensure the deputation of requisite revenue and allied officials along with updated records to facilitate on-the-spot redressal of cases.
Priority is to be accorded to cases involving encroachments, pending mutations, demarcation disputes and restoration of possession, the document states.
Further, all cases taken up during the camps are to be updated on the designated migrant grievance portal to ensure transparency and tracking of progress. An Action Taken Report (ATR) must be submitted to the Divisional Commissioner’s office within seven days after completion of each scheduled camp.
The Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants), J&K, has been directed to make necessary logistical arrangements and facilitate participation of applicants during the camps.
The initiative is expected to provide relief to displaced Kashmiri migrant families who have long sought resolution of property-related disputes, particularly cases involving alleged encroachments and delays in revenue record corrections.
