Mysuru: Congress MLC Yathindra Siddaramaiah announced that encroached lakes in the Varuna assembly constituency will be cleared and developed through the minor irrigation department.During public grievances meetings in Gejjaganahalli, Haropura, Salundi, Igli and Tayur villages, which come under the Tayur gram panchayat limits of the Varuna constituency, Yathindra interacted with residents and heard a series of demands. Villagers from Gejjaganahalli urged the need for a bus stop, canal development, cleaning of drains, and employment opportunities for local youth.
Meanwhile, residents of Haropura sought immediate attention for improving roads and lake development works, construction of a compound wall for the temple, allocation of land for a cemetery, and distribution of residential sites for eligible families.Responding to them, Yathindra assured the gathering that he would discuss the issues with the concerned officials, and place them before chief minister Siddaramaiah to ensure appropriate action. He directed taluk-level officials present at the meeting to address matters falling under their jurisdiction, without delay, and to work proactively for the benefit of the public.He further stated that the Congress govt under Siddaramaiah’s leadership remains stable and committed to implementing people-centric development programmes and guarantee schemes. Alleging that the BJP and the JD(S) are making baseless allegations to mislead citizens, he appealed to the people to continue extending their support and blessings to him and the Congress party for sustained development in the constituency.
