Pune: A 24-year-old woman died, while her husband and 4-year-old son sustained injuries after a truck hit their scooter around 3.30pm on Sunday at Varale village in Khed taluka.The North Mahalunge police identified the deceased as Laxmi Sidrayamma Swami of Khed taluka. Her husband, Sidramayya Swami (32), and son, Shreyash (4), suffered injuries in the accident. The father-son duo are being treated at a nearby hospital.An officer from the North Mahalunge police said on Sunday around 3.30pm, the family was riding towards Amethan village from Varale. “In an attempt to overtake, a truck hit their scooter. All three of them fell down. The truck ran over the woman,” the officer said.He said the truck driver did not stop after the accident. “We obtained CCTV footage from the establishments along the road and launched a search for the driver,” he said.
