Shah said in South 24 Parganas’ Mathurapur that “only the names of infiltrators have been deleted” through the SIR exercise but they will be thrown out of the country once BJP is voted to power. He, however, assured the Matuas and Hindu refugees that their voting rights would be protected. “Bengal shares a huge land border with the neighbouring countries and infiltrators have been given free entry to Bengal by Trinamool which has turned the state to a ‘swarg’ (heaven) for them,” he said pointing out that this helps the CM’s “votebank politics”. “Banerjee knows nothing but appeasement,” Shah said, adding that this was why she was building temples.
“Once a BJP government is formed, the Seventh Pay Commission will be implemented within 45 days. The whole country has received Seventh Pay Commission benefits while WB is still following the Sixth Pay Commission,” Shah said.
Meanwhile, addressing a Parivartan Yatra and rally in Islampur, BJP national president Nitin Nabin said the party will replicate Assam’s ‘detect, delete and deport’ model to expel alleged Bangladeshi infiltrators from the state if voted to power. “We will implement this model wherever illegal infiltrators take away the rights of our own citizens,” Nabin said. He claimed that the Election Commission has already deleted the voting rights of “more than 50 lakh Bangladeshi infiltrators” in Bengal.
