Patna: Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) on Monday arrested Roshan Kumar, assistant engineer–cum–district education project officer, Bettiah (West Champaran), for accepting a bribe of Rs5 lakh and a smartwatch. The action followed a complaint filed by Shams Tabrez, whose company had executed work worth Rs57 lakh in various schools.According to the SVU, the complaint was verified and it was found that Roshan Kumar had demanded Rs7.5 lakh along with a smartwatch as a bribe. A team led by DSP Bindeshwar Prasad arrested him red-handed while he was accepting the amount.A case has been registered against Roshan Kumar under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Further investigation is underway.
