Kolkata: Prime minister Narendra Modi is likely to attend the Brigade Parade Grounds rally on March 14, marking the culmination of the Poriborton Yatra in the state. On Sunday, 4 yatras were flagged off from Cooch Behar, Jhargram, Krishnanagar and Kulti. Union home minister Amit Shah, defence minister Rajnath Singh and Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis are likely to be present in the yatras scheduled on Monday.Flagging off the yatra at Coochbehar, BJP‘s national president Nitin Nabin said, “More than 50 lakh infiltrators were removed from the voter list. These infiltrators were not only violating the rights of legitimate citizens but also jeopardising the security of the country,” Nabin said.“We want to make it clear to the infiltrators that the time has now come for them to leave Bengal. We have to drive out infiltrators and establish a govt that can bring development,” Nabin added.Claiming that the winds of change are sweeping the state, he said, “This change is not merely a change of a regime in Bengal. It is a change of mindset. The youth here are victims of jungle raj, while youths in other states are getting jobs and moving ahead in life.”Union minister JP Nadda, who was present at Krishnanagar, said that the flight of industries from Bengal in the last 14 years pushed the state into a state of desperation. “In the past 14 years, nearly 6,688 industries have downed their shutters in the state. Many of them relocated to other states, while some closed down factories. Nearly 1,300 industries relocated to Maharashtra and New Delhi respectively,” Nadda said.
