Coimbatore: The father of a minor boy who caused a fatal accident near Vadavalli on Saturday, was arrested on Sunday, for allowing his 16-year-old son to ride the motorcycle.The arrested has been identified as Kumar, 50, of Kasthurinaickenpalayam. His son was also detained but later released on bail. Police have also seized the vehicle involved in the accident and initiated the process to cancel its registration certificate. Police said Thirunavukkarasu, 70, of GCT Nagar, was walking along the roadside in Kasthurinaickenpalayam near Vadavalli, when the speeding motorcycle coming from the opposite direction, hit him. He fell and suffered a head injury. He was rushed to a private hospital in the city, where he succumbed to injuries on Sunday.His wife, Sakunthala, subsequently filed a complaint with the traffic investigation wing (West) police after which a case was registered and action initiated against the boy’s father.
