Kanpur: A man was assaulted while his wife molested and issued threat of gang rape by three men after the couple asked them to remove their SUV parked in the middle of the road, in Swaroop Nagar late Wednesday night. A video of the incident went viral, in which, the accused can also be seen damaging the couple’s car. Police said the accused had been arrested and sent to jail.The woman and her family alleged that station in charge and chowki in charge kept ignoring the matter and their report was registered only after they complained to the additional police commissioner (law and order) and DCP Central. They also alleged that police issued challan against the complainant under charges of breach of peace.The woman, resident of Vishnupuri, stated that late Wednesday night, she was returning home by car with her husband from her maternal home in Ashok Nagar. She said in Swaroop Nagar, an SUV parked in middle of the road was obstructing traffic. The man honked to get it out of way, but the youths in SUV did not move it, and several vehicles lined up behind, creating a jam.It was alleged that the youths reversed their vehicle, ramming it into the couple’s car. When the man stepped out of his car, the men in SUV beat him up, tore his clothes and attempted to strangulate him. The women alleged that one of the youth picked up a stone and smashed the windshield of their car, while she kept screaming for help. The woman alleged when she tried to record a video of the incident, the accused, Harshvardhan and his friends Vikrant Agnihotri and Abhishek Tripathi, molested her and threatened her with gang rape.
